The name ‘1808’ pays homage to the year Dunville’s Irish Whiskey was founded in Belfast, and from where it went on to become one of the world’s most famous whiskeys. A wonderful blend of Malt, Grain, and Pot Still whiskeys.
On the nose an initial burst of sweet vanilla which leads to crisp orchard fruits apples and pears. Then lemon curd, leading to candied lemon peel over notes of clean malt. Slight hints of dry smoke linger and intertwine with the juicier fruit notes, carrying through to a finish of sweet spice.
TASTING NOTES: This whiskey offers a soft and creamy mouthfeel with buttery notes that blend seamlessly with ripened citrus and baked biscuit flavors. These elements come together in a burst of fresh lemon meringue, followed by a subtle hint of char and a touch of white pepper.
