Bottled at 43.5% abv, and non chill-filtered, Dunville’s Three Crowns Sherry Finish is a blend of malt and grain whiskeys matured separately in first fill Bourbon casks for 5 years, before being married together and re-casked into first fill Oloroso hogsheads for a further 1 to 2 years.
The final blend will have a 30% – 35% malt content, and will be 6 – 8 years old when selected for bottling. The Bourbon barrel brings notes of honey, vanilla, caramel, citrus fruits, green apples, stewed pears, apricot, pepper and clove. The Oloroso cask compliments these flavours and adds nougat, milk chocolate, mocha, candied walnuts, orange peal, dried fruits, cinnamon, and elevates the caramel to a gorgeous creamy butterscotch that gives both the signature flavour and luxurious mouthfeel to this exceptional Irish Whiskey.
